Nigeria’s House of Representatives was in heavy chaos earlier today as the honourable members were divided among party lines as they debated heavily over the new deregulation of the oil sector as well as the removal of subsidy which has led to the increase in the price of fuel nationwide from N86.50 to N154 for a litre.
The argument was between PDP lawmakers and their APC counterparts as to why the APC once staged a protest in 2012 when the Jonathan led government tried to remove the subsidy on petroleum products.
The lawmakers are expecting the Minister of state for Petroleum resources, Ibe Kachikwu, who they have summoned to appear before them to explain the reason behind the recent removal of oil subsidy.
